As the largest provider of marine drayage in the U.S. safety is our number one priority at IMC. Our fleet is equipped with the most advanced systems and technology to ensure the safety of the motoring public and our drivers.
We want to make sure our drivers are aware of the potential risks on the road and how to avoid them. In order to achieve this goal, all drivers go through a rigorous two-day safety focused orientation upon hire. In addition, our drivers receive ongoing safety training using our state-of-the-art online video and testing system.
Beyond training, we want to make sure our trucks are equipped with the most advanced systems to help keep our drivers safe on the road. In 2017, we began installing and utilizing Vehicle Event Recorders throughout our fleet which allows us to record everything happening while our drivers are behind the wheel. We use this tool to provide coaching to our drivers in order to make them safer and better drivers. In addition, all new company trucks deployed and on order since 2017 come equipped with roll stability control and collision avoidance systems.
For decades IMC has held annual safety awards banquets celebrating the safe practices of our drivers and team members across the country. These events celebrate our outstanding drivers who receive recognition for safe driving in the presence of their families and peers.
IMC has received Platinum Workplace Safety Awards from Great West Casualty Company for being dedicated to creating and fostering a safe work environment for our employees.
